POLICIES
Harrison Consulting, Inc supports a policy regarding
internet usage that is concurrent with the accepted practices and procedures of the
general business community and responsible individual users. The Harrison Consulting
infrastructure and all related systems are offered and managed for use by responsible
parties for the purpose of personal and/or commercial access to the internet. The services
that we provide are intended to benefit our clients and others that they interact with
both "online" and "offline", and to support positive, beneficial, and
responsible use of this widespread communications medium. Illegal and disruptive
practices, as well as practices that are unacceptable based on generally accepted
"internet etiquette" will not be tolerated. Harrison Consulting, Inc. makes no
warrantees as to the suitability for dissemination of the content that users of our
infrastructure and systems may make public or semi-public via the internet or their
website. However, Harrison Consulting does abide by a corporate mission to promote
responsible use of the internet, personally and professionally, and will take any action
that it deems necessary, at its sole discretion, to support this corporate mission. As a
service provider, we reserve the right to terminate service, with or without notification,
if it is deemed that the actions of an end user (individual or other entity) compromise
the well being or reputation of Harrison Consulting, Inc. and/or any of its affiliates or
clients. Harrison Consulting, Inc. accepts no responsibility for the actions of those who
utilize our systems for purposes other than those that we intend to provide, as stated
above.
While no technology solution, network, or internet
application is completely secure, Harrison Consulting makes every effort to provide the
utmost in security and privacy, utilizing the most state of the art security systems,
firewalls, and system designs that are available. With the further intention of providing
privacy for our clients, we guarantee that we will never sell or intentionally disseminate
our clients email addresses or other personal information for any reason other than
a legal, court mandated order to do so. Similarly, Harrison Consulting uses every method
at its disposal to filter out "spam" (unsolicited mass emails) within our server
system to avoid having our clients subjected to receiving these time- and
resource-wasting, potentially dangerous packages of information. Also, the practice of
"spamming" by anyone utilizing Harrison Consulting systems or resources will not
be tolerated, and will result in action being taken, up to, and including, termination of
service.
Harrison Consulting, Inc. is an ardent supporter of the
Constitution of the United States, most specifically the First Amendment protection of
Freedom of Speech, especially as it relates to the ever growing body of issues concerning
the internet as a far reaching medium of communication. However, as a responsible
"corporate citizen", we have to acknowledge the existence of some content on the
internet that is either not suitable for persons under the age of 18, or outright illegal
and dangerous. We believe that it is the responsibility of parents and other guardians to
provide direction and protection against any content that they believe is inappropriate
for minors. As an entity that is part of the very structure that makes up the internet, we
support the use of "parental control" software, and encourage those that are
responsible for the well-being of minors to educate themselves about the internet and its
related technologies, advantages, and disadvantages. Information and participation, rather
than acceptance of all-encompassing statutory regulations or authoritarian control, is the
key to making the internet safer and more beneficial for all. However, content that is
clearly illegal and dangerous (i.e. child pornography), will not be tolerated within any
aspect of the Harrison Consulting, Inc. service package, and will be immediately removed,
reported to the proper authorities, and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
